Morphing Machines sponsored advanced research fellowships

Morphing Machines is an active participant in the Prime Minister's Fellowship Scheme for Doctoral Research coordinated jointly by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).  The scheme provides for research stipend equivalent to about double of the standard stipend of UGC Research Fellows to selected Prime Minister's Research Fellows during their doctoral research carried out at a premier Indian research institution on an advanced research problem of interest to Morphing Machines.  The research work is guided jointly by the faculty supervisor at the institute of the research fellow and a mentor from Morphing Machines.

Morphing Machines currently sponsors the research of one PhD student at the Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore under the Prime Minister's Fellowship Scheme for Doctoral Research.  Morphing Machines has committed to select and sponsor under the scheme up to 3 qualifying PhD students at the IISc and at selected IITs over the next several years.  Some of the research areas of active interest to Morphing Machines are as follows:

  • Dynamic runtime reconfigurable computing architectures
  • Massively parallel processor architectures
  • Heterogeneous multi-core and many-core processor architectures
  • High-performance networks-on-chip
  • Compilers for parallel and distributed computing
  • High-performance cryptography and cryptanalysis systems
  • Massively concurrent Verilog simulation
  • Formal methods in high-level synthesis
  • Provably secure embedded systems
  • Massively parallel computation for artificial neural networks
  • High-performance pattern recognition and classification systems
  • Software Defined Radio
  • Software Defined Networking

Who may apply

You may apply if you are a first year PhD student already admitted at IISc Bangalore or at one of the IITs, or if you are a senior Master's degree student at one of these institutes and are planning to apply for doctoral research admission, and you are interested in being a Morphing Machines sponsored research fellow under the Prime Minister's Fellowship Scheme for Doctoral Research. Doctoral researchers in suitable disciplines at other top national level research institutes and centres, with research interests in the above areas, may also apply. We usually sponsor students in Computer Science and Engineering, Elecronics Engineering, and allied disciplines.

Explore Morphing Machines research fellowship.  Alternatively, directly email fellowship at morphing dot in along with a copy of your research resume and a statement of research interest.

If you are already admitted at the host institute and already have a faculty research supervisor, a letter of support of your application from the faculty research supervisor is necessary.

More information about the fellowship scheme is available at Prime Minister's Fellowship Scheme for Doctoral Research.

Undergraduate (BE/BTech) and graduate students (ME/MTech/MS) may apply for a Morphing Machines Internship.
